Our NDIS Services
Mental Health Support
Support for psycho-social disabilities through the NDIS is crucial because mental health issues are widespread, with nearly half of all Australians experiencing mental health challenges during their lives. For some, these challenges significantly hinder daily functioning, known as psycho-social disability, which the NDIS supports.
Psycho-social disability stems from mental health conditions, signifying a persistent impairment that affects various aspects of life and the ability to carry out specific tasks, including:
- Social interaction, such as community involvement and maintaining friendships.
- Self-management, like organizing daily activities, handling finances, and solving problems.
- Self-care, covering personal hygiene and health maintenance.
- Learning, which involves absorbing and retaining new information and skills.
- Communication, in terms of expressing oneself through spoken, written, or sign language and understanding others.
- Mobility, or the ability to navigate one's home and community.
